When the mass shootings continue year after year, decade after decade, it is odd to European eyes that nothing is ever done to change the situation. The Constitution is banded about as if there is no way changes to that could ever be made. It is a man made document which is 236 years old. A lot has changed in that time. The recent shooting in Australia made headlines because it is out of the ordinary and there are already changes to gun ownership laws being considered. That was only a week ago. Do Americans like to see children being randomly shot? I really cannot think that is the case.

DeleteI will not see an change in my lifetime. I have acquiesced; realize I have, at best, 20 more years. I have almost given up on American democracy; we'll circle back to this pin point next November, providing the giant, floating, orange, mental defect turd does not cancel the mid-term elections for "National Security".

ReplyDeleteSo MANY of the R's "talking points" are "problems" they have made up, which THEY feel only they can fix. That ought to be easy, but they have yet to fix anything they have created! Leading us down a rabbit hole that ends up hurting many people in the process. Not to mention any related distortions of the truth (which THEIR base believes!!!). Unfortunately, too, many of these things also are championed by their religious "base", which makes things worse.
ReplyDeleteANY Public Servant should fully understand that they serve ALL OF THE PEOPLE, not just the ones they want to. IF religious issues might get in the way, they need to be doing something else, period. If a pharmacist does not want to dispense birth control pills, let them find a pharmacy that does not carry them. When their beliefs start to negatively impact their earnings, perhaps they might need to re-evalutate their "beliefs"? What is more important to them and their families? As they CAN seem to forget with real HUMAN DIGNITY really is and that THEY need to make it happen while they are alive on this Earth, not otherwise.
At this time in our lives, Rs are the ones which seem to make decisions about things they know little-to-nothing about. When businesses put "leaders" in charge to do that, they lose money and vanish. Then, with negative profits, that leader "goes somewhere else", by observation.
Rs have gotten into the mindset that all anybody really cares about is lower taxes and their religions. Religion USED to teach us to help those in need. Now "those in need" are considered "losers" who don't deserve any help, by observation. Kind of funny how many red states get the most "government assistance" compared to blue states . . . there is a message there!
