  1. I've always thought of Satan as the Prometheus figure in the Garden of Eden story, offering humanity the knowledge and path to development that the evil God wanted to deny us (God's preferred alternative would apparently have been an eternity of infantile ignorance). And, yes, Eve should be considered praiseworthy for daring to accept the offer in defiance of God. casting her as the villain is one of the countless ways in which the Bible teaches its adherents to stay down, not ask questions or try to better themselves, and just blindly obey the orders of whoever holds power.

    1. Infidel - Casting her as the villain also casts all women as troublemakers, doesn't it?

  2. Just shows how misogynistic the writers of the Bible were. And the Catholics and Eastern Orthodox venerate Mary and don’t see the contradiction. Anything and everything to keep women and others down. :\
