This country, with all its good and bad intentions, flaws and incredible achievements, was founded on the exact polar opposite of what has happened over the years since. It was supposed to be freedom from a state-imposed religion which also implies a freedom from any religion for the nonbeliever. We now find ourselves in a world of thousands of gods, past and present, all requiring a devout subservient behavior with the penalty of eternal torture for not obeying their individual rigid dogma.
It's the same as going to a Hallmark card shop and saying, "So many choices, I wonder which is the right one."
We truly are a bunch of fucked-up crazies hating and killing in the name of a god on a tiny speck of dust and moisture in the middle of a un-chartable universe we'll never comprehend.
