  1. I guess I missed the part of the Tennessee bill that states the medical and financial care of the birth mother during her pregnancy and the medical, financial, educational and nutritional care of the child at birth until the age of 18 is the full responsibility of Gov. Lee. Yeah, Like that would ever happen. Just what Tennessee needs; more neglected, unwanted, abused and undernourished children.

  2. Ah, but paid family leave, healthcare, and especially contraception would not meet the real goal of the forced-birth movement -- controlling and punishing women, and returning them to their pre-modern status as breeding stock with their fertility under the control of the dominant males of the community, in accordance with religious taboo.

  3. #1 sums up the idea that drives too many republican reps: to them, whatever the measures in favor of people’s wellfare, any penny that should be spent on them better go in their pockets and those of their - already - wealthy acquaintances.
To that extent, #45 is the spitting image of the word gluttony - which I heard is one of the 7 capital sins…
(acually I’m pretty certain that Jerôme Bosch would have picked #45 as model for his painting about that matter)
