ReplyDeleteSo, Sergio Rutello - while never one of my favorites (I like guys who have more meat on their bones!), I do have to say that he does have some attractive features and "attributes" that stood out during his short career. Standing at 6'1", he only weighed 160lbs and had a confirmed 10" between his legs. Despite his Italian name, he was born and raised in France.
ReplyDeleteAfter moving to the Los Angeles area in his mid-20's, Sergio was exclusively contracted to Eagle Studios - a very small porn production company that was in business from 1983 to 1985 and featured only solo scenes. Created on the budding cusp of the technology, all their films were shot on video tape and unfortunately, most of the masters were lost due to magnetic tape's short shelf life without being re-mastered. The quality was terrible, graphics looked like they were done by a third-grader and most of the models/actors for Eagle Studios were friends of the owner, Robert Rigolet (aka, Alain Jourdan). Eagle Studios did produce some stars - such as Chad Johnson - who went on to do bigger and better things after the studio closed. All models were of a type at the time - tall, thin and hung.
Where Eagle did excel though was photography sets. The produced photo sets of their models appeared over 50 different times in monthly magazines such as Inches, Advocate Men, Torso, Jock and Heat.Sergio appeared in several magazines and gained some fame for himself but sadly, not on video film media; he only did three movies before Eagle Studios decided to sell it's video catalog to Bijou.
Eagle Studios produced about 25 different video titles before selling the catalog and concentrating solely on photography sets. Ultimately, this move was not a wise one and killed the company. Videos that were unreleased by Eagle (the bulk of their masters) were released by Bijou in later years (up through about 1991) on video tape but only a few are known to have been digitized and archived.
After Eagle, Sergio didn't do any modeling or video work again. His life after the company shut down is unknown.
Thanks for the memories, Rick! I was in high school during Sergio's career, but I remember his photo sets well.
