ReplyDeleteWhitman organized the Mr Colorado physique contest in 1950 and ran it until 1972. He recruited many of his physique models from the contest as his professionalism was respected by all.
His best and most renown work was done outdoors at Hidden Valley in the majestic setting of the Rockies.
In 1965 a severe flood destroyed Whitman’s Denver studio, he recovered from the devastation with the help of many of his loyal models. Whitman had befriended many of them, helped others in serious situations, and he even became the godfather of some of their children.
