  1. Nobody who understands science would claim that a physics book contains "eternal, everlasting truth". Science is constantly refining its conclusions in the light of new evidence, and is explicitly open to doing so. The physics books in 1900 contained the most accurate knowledge available at the time, but didn't include relativity or quantum mechanics, which hadn't been discovered yet. Any physicist today would acknowledge the possibility that there will be further fundamental discoveries in the future which will revolutionize physics yet again.

Religion and science are not just different belief systems which believe in different sets of facts. The essence of religion is its beliefs. The essence of science is the method by which it reaches conclusions. Absolute truth which can never change is a religious concept which is alien to science and to reality itself. There are some things we can be pretty much certain of due to overwhelming evidence, such as evolution, but even there, its always possible that new evidence could require us to revise some of the details in the future.

The point being made by the cartoon is valid. Any advanced civilization could, say, measure the speed of light and get the same answer, while religion is different everywhere because it's just made up. But the difference in the concept of knowledge is much more fundamental.

  4. Religion, Christian Evangelical power over this government is leading you back in the 40's or 50's...
When you have such a racist society, don't talk to me about «Christian values»...
This is such a travesty power.
Just seeing how 47 Taco and his administration is cutting on any science in USA, this is so scary for your people who will be sick and dead because of all this shit.
