ReplyDeleteUno dei tanti villaggi abbandonati in Italia. Craco fu abbandonata dopo un violenta terremoto nel 1980.
Molti altri villaggi in Italia furono abbandonati mentre la gente fuggiva dalla miseria e dalla povertà, in una migrazione di massa verso gli Stati Uniti, il Canada, il Brasile, l’Argentina e l’Uruguay tra il 1890 e il 1960.

Delete# 1- Reminds me of a stone manor house I saw in Ireland that had been vandalized, burned and left an empty shell of a ruin by the brutal Blacks and Tans of the Royal Irish Constabulary during Ireland’s war of independence 1919-1921. The British encouraged their brutality in hopes of scaring people from supporting the IRA and other Irish separatists groups. The brutality of the Blacks and Tans had the opposite effect.
