When I hear on CNN that Trump actions on the Iran war is affecting all parts of USA's economy and society this is almost the tip of the iceberg.

For decades, Republicans have been good at creating issues that only THEY could fix. Yet their fixes never happened, or were half-hearted at best. NO healthcare plan, YET!! Their economic policies drag down the economy, rather than saving it. IF one was paying attention, Obama fixed the mess that had developed during the GWBush Presidencies. Rs said it would not work. When it worked as planned, getting things back to normal, then they alluded "If WE had done it, it would have happened sooner". YET during Obama getting those things done, Rs were resisting and protesting doom at each step. NO good alternatives from Rs, although they should have been capable of alternatives, they offered none that would work.
ReplyDeleteThen came T** and his "I Can Fix It" Magic Wands filled with Energizer batteries. Things got worse and still are getting worse. Promises of greatness that have yet to happen. Quite the opposite, in reality.
Ds did a mild reset during Biden, but a good bit of that was mis-managed. They KNEW they would have a short time to get things done, but suspected what they did would remain. NOT be torn down immediately as "he" didn't like them. Things "he" could have built upon, except that the "Not Invented Here" orientation was T**'s modus operandi. As if only "he" was anointed to make changes to anything, even if it wasted money in the process. "Waste, Fraud, and Abuse" is what happened.
"Waste, Fraud, and Abuse" have seemed to be the hallmarks of how Rs have been operating. Humongous amounts of "unlimited funds" spend on ICE operations that discovered 80% of those detained were legal citizens, for example. How much did all of those agents' activities, looking like something out of an action movie, cost/per detainee? How much FUEL are those vehicles using? Cost of international flights to "somewhere"?
Many consider the cost of the removal of citizens in their local areas, ONLY, not considering the ultimate costs of scaling that up to a regional and nationwide effort. Suddenly, we are spending what we used to spend on our complete military operations, or more, to decrease the available workforce to harvest our crops, build our houses and infrastructure, and contribute tax dollars to pave our roads and such. Jobs that few "Anglos" desire to do. So, prices increase in the normal "price/demand" economic model. Yep, doing these things contributes to INFLATION just as much as greedy corporations and land lords can. It's this COLLATERAL DAMAGE that is not being considered.
I'm just hoping Ds are not getting "too cocky" and get beat, as a result. WE can do better. WE need to ensure that our "better" is an improvement that all can see and enjoy!
