  2. The second plan (the Corcoran) is the most interesting, with its "disappearing bed" in the living room. I don't think they had sofa beds in those days, and in any case this is part of the floor plan, so this must be a Murphy bed that folds down from the wall – the first time I've seen one in a floor plan.
