Mr. Du Bois, You just said a mouthful. The undereducated will be the death of a country faster than almost anything. And THAT fact is the main plank in the republican/maga platform. Keep the masses stupid and you can do anything, even destroy 80 years of progress and prosperity for most of the people.
ReplyDeleteHIGHLY accurate!! Just that they'll never admit that or even hint at it. They seem to align with T in that he has lived in the "gutter" most of his life, so he wants everybody else to join him. A gated community down there, it seems! Which, effectively, makes everybody else "elites" as they are in better places, wanting to continue PROGRESS in a PROGRESSIVE manner, as it should be.
DeleteSeems like keeping the masses ignorant is the Republican way, look at the President.
DeleteI'd be happy if they can and do read books ("worthwhile" is subjective).
ReplyDeleteNit to sound flaky, but it was mentioned in the early 2000s that males in Iran (or Iraq?) were taught to read, reading the Koran. See where that has got them? No critical thinking and such. No learning WHOM can be trusted, either. Unrealized gumption, which can be easily unlocked in their brain!
ReplyDeleteLire la Bible la thora ou autre religiosité provoque un déclin des cellules grises un abus de prières sans doute
DeleteIf they only read about Facism and Nazi racism in history books they might understand that it's all what is happening now globally.
ReplyDeleteYears ago when the stock market boomed in the 1950’s and 1960’s it reflected prosperity for the many.
ReplyDeleteSince the 1980’s it only reflects prosperity for the few.
Hitting 50,000 means nothing for most Americans, and everything for the greedy few.
