  1. The republican base is usually so easily led by the nose, but I think they might be catching on to the "inflation" bullshit.

  2. Both of those memes are so true. My first apartment in Seattle cost $325 per month, two blocks from the market! Imagine. Seattle! Whkattk might be right, but somehow, I don't have confidence in the Republican tribe to figure it out.

  3. I moved into my first apartment in a 10 unit complex in Central Washington state in 1973 for $150 the first 3 months, then up to $175. In 1997 when I moved to Vancouver, WA, my rent was $375. Less than $10 a year increase over 24 years. Great landlords, good neighbors, no greed at that time. I got lucky!

  4. In 1982 our apartment rent on a 3 bedroom apartment was $535 a month in Orange County, CA. Adjusted for inflation that would be $1800. Today that apartment rents for $3250 !
Another apartment of 2 bedrooms we rented for $85 in 1969, inflation adjustment $750. It was a 5 yo building then and in good repair, today it’s a 62 yo dump that rents for $2000.
More than greed in the housing market at work today with private equity and venture capitalists. They will leave half of America homeless by the time they get done.
