No.2 Not really just a Russian idea. We have in Fermont, north of Province of Québec, such a building called «Le mur» (The wall) which is a huge building with no curves but straight which was constructed to protect the rest of the town while winter bad winds and snowstorms.
DeleteWhen you live in The Wall, no need to go outside because everything is inside it like barber shops, mall, convenient stores, sport facilities, inside swimming pool etc..
It's a real advantage as in winter the temperature easily goes down to -45°C and more with the wind factor.
Fermont has its name because it's a iron mining town. Fer in French is iron in English.
