ReplyDeleteA mansion once owned by my ancestors from northern Alabama. They helped slaves escape to Ohio, as they were that rare breed of Southern abolitionists. Their father was of the belief that only Satan would keep slaves. Eventually they were found out and Beau Rive was burnt to the ground as the family fled to Ohio.
Their daughter Elizabeth King married
