I channel Karen Walker... a LOT.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I report that my "inside voice" has been coming out a LOT more often. I see something; badly dyed hair, nose rings and face piercings, really bad neck and face tattoos, yoga pants on people whom believe yoga was the name of a beloved cartoon bear, and not a form of fitness training - nothing even coming CLOSE to a social esthetic - just... crap... head to toe crap, and I hear my voice (in low volume) muttering "Holy shit... wow...".
Rade, your Radmorningcoffee blog and this comment have endeared you to my heart, a sort of kindred spirit I think. My "inner voice" on this subject matter may have started in January 1978 on a cold, snowy day in Washington State. Needing to make a deposit at the bank, I was at a teller's window when I noticed a young man on a bicycle slide up on the slippery sidewalk outside the large bank windows and park his bike. When he entered the lobby I noticed he was wearing a large nose ring(the first I'd seen). As he stood in line the frozen mucus encrusting the ring began to melt and drip, necessitating a wipe on his coat sleeve. I turned to my teller who was looking at the man and remember saying, "Well, that's attractive!" Audibly, and she winced. My inner voice asked, "And they want to breed and produce more like them? We're doomed!"

ReplyDelete#1) I loved the first Will & Grace, and Karen (Megan Mullally) was a hoot. If I remember correctly in real life, she was not a drinker at all!
#3) LMAO, so true!! Though I do love caller ID, and call waiting from the new era. If I don't recognize the # I'm not answering.
