2026.0108.0001-Thursday...
It's sad that there are only a handful of corporations who pay a living wage.
ReplyDeleteThere is a list on this site: https://www.upworthy.com/5-successful-corporations-show-what-can-happen-when-employees-are-paid-a-living-wage
Rade - Thank you for that link.
Delete#1 -- In OUR governmental design, the President is not all-powerful enough to tell businesses what they can charge for items or how to run their specific businesses. This is good.
ReplyDelete#2 -- The financial types told Henry he would "go broke" paying that higher wage. Just the opposite happened! The company sold more cars and made more money as the workers could NOW afford to buy them! Which also increased quality control and reliability, things which non-worker owners could benefit from. So sales and company reputation increased, along with profits.
#3 -- Funny how "the consumers" have not really understood this relationship! Only way to combat that is to stop buying things . . . which is not going to happen. What happened to employee profit-sharing programs? Where if production goals were reached, the employees shared in those sales increases?
#4 -- The wealthy people seem to not like "free-loaders" who did not work for their wealth, so "giving handouts" is not what they like to do . . . UNLESS it is to a donation to a tax-deductible non-profit group to help those that need help. WE have no influence on those who are poor and keep having kids, either. Or become obese due to poor food choice training! It would be NICE if this perception could be eliminated! People want a "hand up, not a hand out", IF their head is in the right place. This is one thing I liked about GWBush's administration . . . to help citizens break the "chain of poverty" and attain a better life through helpful orientations, with the goal of a better life for the parents and their children.
And the attitude still is: "Let them eat cake."
ReplyDeleteI don't have bat sensors but my crude oil sensors are telling me that some individuals and companies in this country have increased their profits by billions from this Venezuela travesty. How transparent can they be? Obvious paybacks to the people and corporations they control who helped this abomination win a second term with millions in campaign contributions. Stuff it in their bank accounts and not a penny left to trickle down.
ReplyDeleteThis Venezuela's oil paying money to USA's is a long shot for the US oil companies.
Delete47 may want to say that it'll pay back the money Venezuela did steal many years ago, but their infrastructure of oil refineries are old and not efficient.
US oil companies would have to invest billions of dollars before it could make money from them and also, the price of oil is low which makes it none profitable to invest such money.
TACO Trump is again playing dangerous games with Russia and China that is the most part of it.
