ReplyDeleteAh but they have no system of beliefs, only lists of grudges and grievances and vendettas and easy victims and people they hate and people they can gull for money or violent collusion and people whose lesser power makes them willing to do anything for more, and the lowest of all desires, to destroy what does not look and sound like, or at the very least feed, them. Which is why they are doomed to destroy each other, blithely, without regard to what they do to the decent people and institutions of the world. Stay vigilant! Love and kindness are the greatest assets we have, and truth and tolerance our most promising investments.
ReplyDeleteSeems that the "eating their own" actions started when Republicans were running against each other. As one tried to DEFINE how they were better, as "Conservative", "Fiscally Conservative", "Constitutionally Conservative", and on and on and on and on . . . Then came all of the religious orientations into that mix, too! By all of the niche groups which made up the total amount of "Republicans". Then came the demonizing of others not like them, including some of THEM.
DeleteTHEN came the orientation "We are the ONLY ones doing things 'right', so everybody else is wrong". Especially in the realm of spending money OR INVESTING in the future, a future in which their grandkids would grow up in, rather than a "retrograde future" where they want to go back to, not fully realizing how bad it was for some people, the days of old.
When the realm of the "conservative, progressive, looking for better solutions, centrist" arrives, PROGRESS can be made, hopefully! I suspect that can ONLY happen with the complete implosion of the current Republican Party of its own doing. OR somebody suddenly realizes that "Hey!" WE can fix this mess, after we revise things!"
Isn't it wild how the same people who were conned by the Bakkers are still sending their money to people like Erikkka KKKirk?
