Answer to #2: Because the mainstream media are owned (directly or indirectly) by billionaires and will avoid undermining a president so long as he continues to serve billionaire class interests.

It was only after Biden started talking about raising taxes on the wealthy in his second term that the billionaire-owned media suddenly decided that his life-long speech impediment and occasional verbal stumbles were signs of dementia, and billionaire Democratic donors started pushing other prominent Democrats to pressure him to drop out of the race.
