ReplyDeleteThere has ALWAYS been comments about "moochers" using a system designed to help the "real poor" of society. In the middle 1960s, it was "Welfare" that was mooched. The inner-city participants had grown up in a culture of "Work to get enough money to buy cheap liquor and some money in their pocket", so the kids knew no different. When their savings ran out, they'd go get another job, cycle repeat. In effect, they were engineering that they would be a "moocher for life".
ReplyDeleteThen "drug dealing" seemed to be their new "easy work" job for "big money". These people realized that they wanted more than living from wine bottle to wine bottle. Yet drug dealing could lead to them becoming a "ward of the state" with free room and board, for decades.
Now it seems the "modern moochers" are single mothers with multiples of young kids. Working a minimum wage job with a "nice looking" small SUV for the family car. Yep, they ARE working, just that some procreative decisions were not well made, by observation, respectfully. Probably trying to teach her kids to NOT make the same poor decisions SHE made in her younger life. Including that Men can be flaky in their actions and commitments. Like "leaving their gift of life" and then getting a better job in another town, suddenly. Or getting killed in neighborhood violence. Or getting jail time for such. Leaving the receptor of his gifts to fend for herself. Hard to feed kids on a minimum wage job.
Looking at the recipients at the various food drives, there are ALSO white people there, too, getting the benefits! People who have "good jobs" that suddenly vanished. People with mortgages, car notes, taxes to pay, and kids. The famous "well off" people who are living paycheck to paycheck. INCLUDING current government workers!
Being "too proud" to take assistance only goes so far! One thing about it, from what I have seen on tv, no junk food in those food packages! One way to get people to "eat healthier"?
Let them eat shit !
ReplyDeleteConcerned about the poors getting handouts while Trump and his acolytes raid the national treasury. The Trump family has so far made a billion dollars since January of this year with their grift and corruption, and this year is not over yet !
