  2. June Lockhart lived to a 100 and was worthy of a 1000 :)
The best mom on tv, from Lassie to Lost In Space. A reserved image on tv yet a free spirit, and a person of conviction, From protesting against the war in Viet-Nam, supporting the gay community, even speaking out on the Virginia Graham Show (see that on YouTube).
to supporting care and housing for the homeless. Billy Mumy and Angela Cartwright of LIS said June took them to their first rock concert which featured The Rolling Stones. And June accompanied then boyfriend Bob Corff who played Jesus in a touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Their age difference and relationship of five years raised eyebrows at the time.
Hollywood is home to far better people than its critics suggest, June Lockhart proved that ! :)

    RIP, June Lockhart.

Rj, your comment was so nice.

I always liked her, every June 25, I would look up her name, (she has the same birthday as one of my aunt's, who turned 88 this past June)! Always just heard good things about her. I do indeed remember her from Lassie, Lost in Space, and Petticoat Junction.

Also, in Miracle on 34th street (1947) her father played the judge in that movie.

On a side note, I think she was a very attractive woman.

    2. She was added to the show as Janet Craig the town doctor in its final two seasons 1968-70 to replace Bea Benadaret who had died in 1968.

    3. Thanks, Rj, I was going to look it up, because I wasn't sure, but yes indeed you're correct.

  4. Between her and her parents, you could always find a Lockhart to bring a smile to a movie or show. She was fantastic.
