It's 5:30AM and the dawn has yet to break here in RI. We're slowly slipping into autumn.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to do about the "now"; about Trump, about the GOP, about MAGA, about the Democrats. I get a daily barrage of texts with tiny URL's pleading for donations to this candidate or cause. Even after I reply with "STOP" or the like. It's about the only texts I get on my phone. I've stopped participating in the protests; the early April "No Kings!" rally that I pulled together really took a toll on me (there was not much support other than "Gee! You're doing SUCH a great job of organizing this!").
So... we blog.
Life is good.
Rade, an old standby comes to mind---"I hear what you're saying and I(we) feel your pain." Every morning I wake up and cheekily wonder "Is he dead yet?" But then the reality sets in after reading the headlines from the few credible news sources that haven't capitulated to the insanity, and I wonder "How could he say such stupid, deceitful, dangerous things; how did he get away with doing such illegal, unwarranted, damaging things; how is it that we have allowed the least qualified, morally bankrupt, soulless among us to govern the country?" It's a head-scratcher for sure.
DeleteMe, I don't have the answers. But I know a change will eventually come, and you and all the bloggers are contributing to the answer we seek, for it is with resistance to the status quo that will continue the fight for truth that this country so desperately needs. I ask that you be strong and continue what you do and hopefully life WILL be good again, for all of us.
Without hope, we despair---with hope, we find the light.
Jasmine Crockett is correct on all counts. How the country ever recovers from this is a total mystery. Now that he's taken over DC and militarized large swaths of land along the border, he gets everything further and further into the weeds.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, the only thing that pulls us out of it is if sane republicans (if there are any left) vote for democrats in the next two elections --- IF we have elections which aren't totally rigged like Russia's.
