"The Plane! The Plane!" Now the USA taxpayers, with no regard to political orientation, are NOW on the hook to pay for "The Plane" as to whatever it takes to make it compliant to USA Gov't. use. A plane the "other government" has been trying to sell for 4 years. One reason it is such a "dog" on the used plane market is that others have moved to smaller and more efficient planes, making the older and much more thirsty planes "out of favor". But guess who is still living in the past? Wonder it it'll burn the newer synthetic jet fuel? NAH!! Perhaps this is the real reason for "Drill baby drill?"
ReplyDeleteThat "great deal" on that plane will end up deepening the deficit spending we should be digging ourselves out of, in the process. But who cares? Not unlike in the middle 1970s when sales of big luxury cars decreased due to their fuel thirst.
Now Hegseth has accepted it so somebody else will not have to. Diversion tactics? Think of the uproar Rs would create if Obama had done similar? But we know Obama has more common sense and knows what he said when he took the Oath of Office "to protect and uphold" the Constitution of the USA. Apparently "somebody else" has already forgotten what he said, TWICE?
The worst part about The Plane is that it will take more than $1B to retrofit and it won't be ready before the TWO he ordered from Boeing during his first whiny term.
ReplyDeleteAnd, now we find out it will cost $15M / yr just to maintain it. Arrrrrrghhhhh.

mike johnson, et al, doing the dirty work for their daddy don. So now, out of the house and on to the senate. Can we count on any of the repugs to do the right thing? Maybe 1 or 2, but it won't be enough. I'd like to be more upbeat but I don't honestly see a scintilla of hope that this bill will be rejected. Too bad we weren't all born billionaires, a big payday is on the horizon.
ReplyDeleteFirst time I looked at that side profile picture of "The Plane", is just saw it was big. When I looked at it just now, I realized how BIG it was. How TOO BIG it is! There is a REASON they could not sell it!
ReplyDeleteYep, another strong indication of "The Little Man Syndrome" is somewhere!
With an expanding federal deficit (due to tax cuts), I guess $400M + $1B do not matter when TRILLIONS are at stake?
Cdadbr - Yes, it's quite insane.
