Even many rabbis today recognize that the Egyptian captivity and the Exodus never happened. In fact, most of what's in the Old Testament is just mythology, no different than the tales of Zeus or Odin.
ReplyDeleteEven the New Testament stories of Jesus are full of details that either we know from historical records did not happen, or that couldn't have happened given the known cultural and historical realities of the time. There's no reason to think Jesus really existed any more than Sherlock Holmes or Spider-Man actually existed.
