2025.0407.0003...
(Oh look! There's a face-bomb! And it has faces in it!)
BEFORE I read the comments, the various styling cues from about the 1959 model years scream "F O R D" as to the styling studios the image came from. I do not ever remember seeing that concept before, though.
The dream car concept by Mead inspired the big round taillights that became a Ford design trademark on Fords of the 1961-1964 model years. And those scalloped front fenders were common on 1957-1960 Mercurys and 1958-1960 Lincolns. Mead called his renderings “reality ahead of schedule”. -Rj
Used Google Lens to search for that picture and found lots of references to Syd Mead. One Facebook post I read said: 1958 concept sketch for Ford Motor Company by the legendary Syd Mead. Taken from his Sentinel book. Other commentors on that post said it resulted in cars like the Fairlaine/Galaxie.
The last one is a concept sketch for the Ford company by Syd Mead. I read "APACHE".
ReplyDeleteAnon@2:57am - Thank you!
