Is it me or do you find yourself starting every morning, scanning the headlines hoping to see that another billionaire scumbag or some shit-bag politician died?
The guillotine is such a precision instrument with its steel cable, gears and levers all to control the speed of the blade. If the blade falls too fast, the head of the decapitee flies off the body in a bloody mess. If the blade falls too slow, the head won’t decapitate completely and another drop of the blade is required. A weight stone is attached to the top of the frame of the blade to aid in complete decapitation. Decapitees with bull necks require several chops from the blade of the guillotine. Also, the decapitee is face down on the table of the guillotine to ensure that the blade goes through the decapitee’s vertebrae of the neck, as neck tissue and tendons would slow down the blade if the decapitee was face up, thus requiring the raising of the blade for another try. A reluctant decapitee would have to be restrained by the executioners assistants and sometimes had to have their hands and feet tied. In France, when they used the guillotine, the chief executioner was known as the Monsieur de Paris. His job, aside from executing people, was to ensure the guillotine was always maintained in working order and schedule its use. The youngest to be executed was a girl of 14 who poisoned the food of her mother and father, the oldest to be executed was an elderly war veteran in his 90’s who beat another elderly man to death with his cane in a veterans home. -Rj

DeleteThese memes are just such nonsense. I mean, just read them. Most of them make no sense on any plane of reality.
