Extreme wealth in the cities, extreme poverty in parts of the country. Look familiar?
ReplyDeleteAn impressive, glittering facade that hides the fact that tens of millions of Chinese and other Asian workers have to put up with low pay, poor living and working conditions and systems that allow their abuse at all levels. When cities expand in China and other Asian countries, land is taken from nearby farmers by police and at times military force at the behest of their own oligarchs. So much for the success stories of China and the rest of Asia. :(
