Yes, JOE does have those powers recently given to him by the SCOTUS. He can either be "Vengeful" as he could well do, pardoning son Hunter, getting somebody arrested and locked up, removing some SCOTUS judges (with prosecution for not policing themselves/corruption), and a few other things that he could do. But THAT would be doing "What DJT would do" (it might be suspected and predicted). As much as JOE could do those things AND some of us might like for him to do them, on his way out, I somewhat doubt that he would. Due to his firm belief that "the system" needs to work as designed, rather than be "short-circuited" by some President. Unfortunately, those desired actions would also violate the Separation of Powers of the US Constitution at the same time, in a few cases.
ReplyDeleteMight he command that DJT be locked up immediately? Yes, just as it would have worked if DJT's skin color was not what it is. Might he command SCOTUS operatives remove CT for obvious corruption issues? Yes, treating him as if his skin color was not what it might be. Can he command Justice Alito to "Act like a Judge" and also not allow any overt statements of political bias/orientation in public? Certainly, he could state that The Court is supposed to be politically neutral in all of its dealings, even if it might be expressed by one's wife/partner. Non-compliance can mean removal. He could pardon all of Hunter's alleged mis-deeds, but as a part of a "plea deal", could get him sent to a rehab facility as needed, for as long as needed, instead.
As much as we might want JOE to do the bulk of these things, stepping into "the gutter" that DJT enjoys wallowing in in so doing, I doubt he would because he is an honorable man and one who believes in the processes of our laws and letting that section of government work as it's supposed to, albeit somewhat slowly and laboriously. I doubt anybody would fault him for doing these things, I just don't feel that he would.
In ANY other time, JOE would have been lauded for the much good that he's done and has been involved in orchestrating for this country. In spite of his associates "On the other side of the aisle" seeking to block anything he did (by their own admission). HIS heart is in the right place!!!
President Biden, der Beste :)
ReplyDeleteAmerica has had great leaders in very difficult times, Wilson, FDR, Truman und JFK. In Europa these men are heroes, as is Biden.
(vvs)
Cdadbr - Very good points.
ReplyDeleteCdadbr: I fully concur. Joe Biden is a man who lives up to what is to be expected from a president of a democracy.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Anon as well: I'm glad you had (and the rest of the world too) the opportunity to have this man to rule your country for the four past years.
