The quote “No matter how you pray or who you pray to, the result is always the same … nothing happens” is not true. Sometimes what you pray for happens. For example, if I have a cold, and I pray to get well, I will get well. If I have terminal cancer, and I pray to get well, my prayer will be unanswered. In other words, the result of praying is not “nothing”; what happens is what would have happened anyway, exactly as if God doesn't exist. Anyone with an elementary school education should be able to see this, but unfortunately, the quote by Sam Harris is correct.
