That must be the new Amtrak train from Minneapolis to Chicago, right?
ReplyDeleteHigh-speed Rail. They claim to have actually started on the one from Vegas to LA. It must be an invisible one.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for progress but I wonder what the odds are of surviving a derailment or collision at that speed. Looks like the next, big news headline waiting to happen.
ReplyDelete@Milleson. I think only in the US could there be problems. How many pickup trucks get hit by trains in the US? Spain had a derailment several years back. The schmuck controlling the train wanted to test its limits. Big news. It would be like an airliner crashing, but knowing the US, they'll build the crossings expecting the citizens to be responsible when crossing. oye ve!
ReplyDelete@LeftField - Funny, but you don't text Jewish! LOL Yes, you are correct on all points.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thank you for the laugh. You're right.
ReplyDeleteThe train video is an early test of the French TGV (bullet train), the fastest train in the world. Train travel at such speed has been routine in France for decades. It is possible to do it safely, with competent engineering.
ReplyDeleteInfidel - "Competent" being the key word.
