That second one is exactly what is happening here in the U.S. ---- something we used to condemn other countries for doing.
When for one Bible «fact» God ordered to kill every born children in Egypt to free Israel form the pharao grip all those pro-life Bible freaks should go back reading their fable book and just shut up and let others live their life.
There are too much Christian Evangelicals in the politic domain even in the SCOTUS to help USA to be a real 21st century democracy.
Canada, France and many other world democracies are doing it without any religious beliefs trying to control their ppolicies.
In France they are even banning ALL religious signs in schools, governement institutions etc.
In Province of Québec we have such law.
We evacuated any religious signs from our schools and universities since mid 60's. No more prayers in schools and other official places.
Our politicians NEVER ends their speeches by «God save Canada» etc..
