That soldier in #6, in front, young, looking scared shitless...but he's still found it in himself to wade forward and risk getting himself killed--along with the thousands of other young men with him. That's real courage that we can never adequately repay.

Brought back some serious memories. My father was a part of this day's battle and barely survived to march on through France (during liberation) and into Germany. Came home with three purple hearts (nearly died twice) and with what we then called shell shock that haunted him for the rest of his life. These guys paid a price, many with their out young lives, to save democracy (literally save it). The fear on that young man's face is real.
