ReplyDeleteComing from an architectural background, my first thought was, "OH MY GOD the amount of engineering required to suspend those cantilevered balconies!" thinking they were solid concrete. (Moment of Inertia and all that crap.) Then, upon realizing that they were wood (or manufactured material) slats supported by steel beams, I relaxed a little. Still, I can't help but wonder if they don't bounce a bit when walked on, and what is their intended weight limit. Too many horror storeies over the years of decks collapsing when overloaded during parties...
