We lost a great journalist.
Another GREAT journalist has passed on. May she rest in peace.
Capable, competent, talented, and integrity to boot. The Amelia Earhart of pioneering women in television journalism. As is the custom when someone of this stature dies, the backstory can be revealed and Ms. Walter's ascent to the top of her profession was hampered by misogynistic attitudes and roadblocks put in place by the media brass. And although she did not like her name being maligned by SNL and Gilda Radner, when Radner died, Barbara sent a letter of condolence to Gene Wilder and signed it with Gilda's numb-tongued version of her name. We will miss but celebrate the life of another remarkable woman, Baba Wawa.
A class act that is going to be hard to follow.
