  2. Actually, Evolution can be debated. That's why it is science and not dogma. The debating over evolution is not, however, a debate about whether it happens.

  3. I LOVE Fallen Angel. It's one of the few paintings of Lucifer that depict him so dynamically or as such a beauty. (The flame-red hair in particular was a master stroke.) Naturally, the Classicists and The Church STRONGLY condemned it and almost ended Cabanel's career. He was eventually forgiven but forced to toe the mark from then on. To think of the all of the images he might have created if not shackled by such powerful, hidebound forces.

    Thanks, Rick!

  4. Jimbo, Xerxex, Whkattk, Ricky, all, let me recommend you the sculpture/fountain of the Fallen Angel ( El Angel Caído), at Retiro Park in Madrid, made by Ricardo Bellver in 1878. Iťs said is the only sculpture in the world deficated to the devil. / I also love this painting of Lucifer, by A. Cabanel. Hugs to all of you.
