GUNS and too many in American hands are the first responsible of all those mass shootings. No matter what some say, mental health isn't that main issue.
ReplyDeleteIn Canada we have mental health issues but NOT that kind of numerous mass shootings. In Montreal lately we had few gun shootings on the streets but those were related to war between street gangs on drug dealing and mafia war.
On last Sunday I hosted a gay couple friends of mine for 20 years and they are sadly Retrumplicons who like Fuck News and alternative facts. No need to tell you that I never speak about politics with them.
The youngest just argued with me that TEACHERS were grooming children over the gender issue etc...
Just an example that they are following any lies coming from the conspiracy theories of Repugs propaganda.
Not mentionning what they think about Biden and the Dems etc..
Takei's sad take is the naked truth. And it's more proof that the GOP is NOT pro-life at all, only pro-birth.
ReplyDeleteJiEL - I would have a very difficult time associating with your friends.
ReplyDeleteThose two gay couple friends are from Delaware and we have another gay couple friends of both of us who are Democrats.
ReplyDeleteNon the less to tell you that these Democrats friends and I NEVER go deep in USA's politic spheres.
All we could say would be automaticaly turn over by their alternative arguments.
What is not understandable is that they are GAY men and don't see the GOP anti gay philosophy.
BUT I can tell you that they are racists and anti social security stuff etc..
He once said: why would my taxes money could pay for those lazy people that don't work and worse, pay for their health care etc.. Not to mention their views on immigration in USA.
JiEL - I would drop them like a hot rock.
ReplyDelete@ JiEL - Then they don't quite understand how Social Security and Medicaid work, more the pity.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in my 20s/30s I befriended with some american students spending a year abroad at our local - quite expensive - University. Of course they’d spend most of their time partying and taking their tour of old-Europe.
ReplyDeleteThinking back, I could have told those among them who would become the perfect hypocrite adult pretending they’d always been straight and never to have tried dirty things such as poppers, weed and backrooms, from those getting the chance to simply open up their minds to different ways because their personality abled them to.
They were all coming from well earning families and yet would live the experience so differently, just like JiEL’s friends may be gay yet still think and vote like ascertained Republicans.
I think we all live in our own bubble. It’s just that some bubbles show a better view and are more permeable than others.
And I come to think that education, the one you kind of inflict on your offsprings, is unfortunately not the answer. For it seems that whatever someone’s background they will derive towards whatever their geneshave in store for them.
Hence humanity going on fighting itself all over again.
And to think we just officially reached 8 billions of human beings on this planet...
Laurent - You are very wise for someone so young.
