Well he resumed it quite in the real matter.
ReplyDeleteHe forgot to say «Evangelical-politician» which would be more accurate.
After seeing the town hall of Mike Pence on CNN yeaterday, he did elude that question on abortion right on his religious point of view not really mentionning if the health of the mother or the feortus could be none viable etc.
Again, religion is still pulling back any advances for some rights in USA.
I saw on The Closeted Professor that the legilation on gay «marriage» is almost be approved by the Senate and Biden will sign it soon.
More than time it would be done BUT will any states like red ones could overturn it?
With such a two parties country on ALL levels of your society, this cha cha dance will go on for ever.
@ JiEL - The Red states will challenge the marriage equality in court, just as they have with the numerous abortion cases. The problem here is that the more convoluted the language of the law, the easier it is for them to challenge (at least) parts of it. That enables them to chip away at it until it's defunct --- like they have with Voting Rights, Women's Rights, and other LGBTQ+ rights.
ReplyDeleteI find it funny that this sounds very similar to the same dialogue he often spoke as Dr. McCoy on Star Trek :-)
ReplyDeleteI feel so sorry for you Dr McCoy that you married an MTG...
ReplyDeleteIt's no wonder you boarded the Enterprise later on ;-)
Love the line, "I'm a doctor not a politician." Turn that around and we get to core of the problem "I'm a politician, not a doctor." We have politicians trying to practice in a field they aren't prepared for and with dubious credentials. These moralists are in our bedroom, our doctors' offices, our voting booth, and more....shades of 1984...where's George Orwell when we need him?
ReplyDeleteTaurus9311 - Indeed.
ReplyDeleteLOL... WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS????
ReplyDeleteWoW! Was this REALLY his whole career?!
ReplyDelete"Damnit, I'm an actor! Not a doctor!" 8D
Great find, Rick! Thanks!
Upton - "Out there."
ReplyDeleteJimbo - You are very welcome.
