The rich and there playgrounds get more insane...while doing nothing to help others and contribute to more ocean pollution no doubt.

Spot on. Between this and private space rockets, I am over these fucking billionaires who don't give a crap about, like, people (unless there is money involved).

I honestly believe I would make a great Communist.

Rad - Nah. You're too nice for that. Socialist, perhaps?

Un jour ou l'autre ,ils feront une journée porte ouverte.....ça fera des récifs pour les poissons...:-)

Alternate title: "New way for rich people to annoy fish".

I don't think it will catch on, though. The true-blue billionaire assholes are obsessed with colonizing Mars, not the ocean floor (though that would actually be easier and make more sense than Mars).

Infidel - Duh, why didn't I think this would probably annoy fish?

SickoRicko said...

Anon@11:16am - That is possibly true.

This is right there beside that extravaganza put on to bury QE II. Don't get me started on the wastefulness of the super-rich.

I actually liked the idea of them going into space, provided it's a one-way trip.

It's all fun and games until you start to come up with justifications why invading a neighboring country for a necessary resource isn't really imperialism. Then your successor pretty much declares that he was the entire revolution, sends foes to gulags, engineers famines, and it just goes downhill from there. He does get to be the good guy, once, and for a brief period the filthy capitalist pigs love him.

(Admittedly these days people tend to forget the invasion of Azerbaijan and basically think it was all fine before Stalin.)

(The REAL difficulty is that familiarity with communism breeds contempt. Like, Great Plains states have a lot of Ukrainians, which definitely shifts politics to the right as hypercorrection for Stalinism, as do Cambodians with memories of the Khmer Rouge. Or how the exodus of Jews from Russia and red-green-brown coalitions in Europe and at the UN did the same to Israeli politics.)

Honestly, the 1% of this planet with all the wealth are a clueless bunch and should be dragged into the street and publicly shamed for their lack of empathy, greed and stupidity.

Anon@5:01am - As good as your comment is, I don't understand why it's on this particular post.
