SCOTUS is a real failure of USA's democratic system. What is it about some judges being «partisan» of a parti to make them «neutral»? If you believe it, you're not objective.
ReplyDeleteFor Madison Cawthorn, I first thought he was a very cute guy but now, he is for me as «stupid» as he is cute....
I guess it was "disinformation" when Kavanaugh stated, under oath, that he considered Roe v. Wade as "settled law"? As the leaked document certainly claims otherwise! Another "fine mess" which the Trump administration got us into!
ReplyDeleteInteresting how the "Party of Small Government", whose operatives have been "hair trigger quick" to denounce viable programs to help the nation, have been quick to demonize their "radical" opponents, and have used the words "over-reach" and "legislate from the bench" whenever anything they wanted was squashed. Giving the orientation that THEY are the ones to do what's right for America. Desiring to give the impression that THEY speak for America, that THEY are the "real center" on the Liberal/Conservative spectrum, not acknowledging that THEY moved the centerline decades ago.
YET, THEY are the ones passing restrictive laws, even really BAD laws, to control others. Expanding, once again, the reach of government into the bedrooms of America. As Justice Alito's main argument centers around the fact that "privacy" is not mentioned in the US Constitution, making such a concept of person actions, unconstitutional, will have far more far-reaching affects, possibly, than not. Making Orwell's "1984" a greater reality in the process.
Many of these laws seem "logical" to them, yet they have not really set up a viable funding for such laws. Other than "vigilante justice", it seems. Although they seek to have others bear the basic costs, there is still the cost of litigation for the State.
Democrats NEED to point out these things to the voters, reliably and easy to understand. Putting the onus on the voters to make it happen. And get everybody out to vote!
Anon@6:58am - That's why they are known as liars and hypocrites. Oh, and they're fond of "alternative facts" as well.
ReplyDeleteSCOTUS is now a political football. The moment they prevented Obama from appointing someone, the fix was in. And now... well. F America.
