Satanic Temple asks Boston to fly flag following U.S. Supreme Court ruling
BOSTON, May 5 (Reuters) - The Satanic Temple has asked to fly its flag over Boston City Hall after the U.S. Supreme Court this week ruled that the city violated a Christian group's constitutional free speech rights by refusing to raise a flag bearing the image of a cross.
The Salem, Massachusetts-based Satanic Temple following the ruling posted a request filed on Tuesday with the city's property department asking to have its flag raised for "Satanic Appreciation Week" from July 23 to 29.
OMFG! What is next in USA to go lower and sadly outrageous.
ReplyDeleteThe freedom rights should have a certain control of what is in the message, no? Qanon and MTG shows how idiots that freedom of speech can go balistic in craziness....
JiEL - Now, now. There's nothing wrong with Satan. He's better than the alternative.
ReplyDeleteGood for them. If the city denies it, well...then it's time to go to court! Because it appears there is no longer a separation of church and state. In fact an atheist or a pagan should take the abortion case to court for their right to follow their religion without interference.
ReplyDeleteI myself am a member of the Satanic Temple and truly believe in its teachings. It stands to reason that my truly held beliefs should be respected. Thank you very much.
ReplyDeletePat - Absolutely!
ReplyDeleteLeftField - Everyone's beliefs should be respected. Except for today's fanatical evangelical hypocrites.
ReplyDeleteNah. Just mine Sicko.
Delete(in actuality I'm an atheist with no religious association.) Religions are dangerous, ethics and science not.
:)
Yay! Take that ya stoopid Xtian's. Where's your gawd now???? Heh?
ReplyDeleteRad - Yes, they have opened Pandora's Box for sure. Thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteLeftField - Very true.
