Some people would rather be distracted with Tik Tok,You Tube,Instagram, etc. To see how back things have gotten!
ReplyDeleteLuv chocolate - Too true.
ReplyDeleteHere too in Province of Quebec we have a worker's shortage but not due to the advantage of unemployment benefits but more about how the economy is now repopening and the fact that the security of working places are at stake.
ReplyDeleteWe have jobs at 22$-25$/Can per hour available and more as we have a shortage of teachers, nurses etc. who have higher income benefits.
The situation of the pandemic is getting better and our provincial government is slowly opening many of the economic and social places.
The plan is now showing it from now to the end of summer with a total opening.
When schools will begin at the end of August, no more masks required and most of the society will work almost as before the pandemic.
The immediate issue is finding workers for the restaurants because the long time shut made many of those workers to go in another job for income.
JiEL - I'm glad to hear that your restaurant workers found other work during the shutdown, and that the wage is so good there. However, I'm concerned that opening up Canada by August as if the pandemic is over might be too soon. There are variants circling the globe that haven't been dealt with yet.
ReplyDeleteAs we are going lower and lower in cases here and that the double vaccination rate will be obtained at the end of August the opening of schools, colleges and universities will be like normal times.
ReplyDeleteFor the variants, we don't have much cases of them here as in Ontario.
In Ontario, they have an important Indian population and they had some arriving from trips to India too. Here the Indians aren't that numerous.
The worse places here for now is in Manitoba, Alberta and Ontario.
Our provincial borders are shut which helps to not spreading the virus from another province.
As with the USA's border, just trucks of goods are allowed to cross it.
So our vaccination rate and our population taking care to obey the sanitary health care rules makes it possible to go back to an almost normal life at the end of summer time.
JiEL - I wish you well with that.
ReplyDeleteGAY-men to that last one. They all make great points. Why isn't this the stuff we hear about when we turn on the news? Common sense POV. Common sense facts. We aren't going to move forward with any of this until people start hearing these messages.
ReplyDeleteuptonking - I have a friend who considers himself a "true" Socialist and he keeps telling me that a worker class revolution is in the offing. I'm not holding my breath.
