The stakes are high. Trump’s Supreme Court appointees have already reshaped the American legal landscape. A conservative taking Ginsburg’s place could walk back women’s rights, LGBT rights, voting rights, union power and civil rights not just for a generation, but potentially irreparably.

uptonking - Yes, all of those things need to be done. But, I have too much fear about what's going to happen, and I'm already at the top therapeutic dose of my antidepressant.
Jimmy - I can relate. But we must follow uptonking's advice instead.
Sad to hear the passing of this lady, although we know little of her of her life on this side of the Atlantic, her influence on the US has been huge and will be sadly missed, her courage battling ill health and legacy should never be forgotten. I have heard that there is controversy in the way that the 'powers that be' are attempting to use this dear lady's passing to shoehorn a lacky into the position she held?
Is there any depths some people in power will not sink to in an effort to get their own way....?
The only way that the US will be able to follow a different path will be if everyone gets out an votes in November, democracy works only if the people 'speak loudly' enough by placing a cross on a certain piece of paper!
bobbert - Yes, republi-CONs are going to force one of their own onto the Supreme Court bench. That we may not be able to stop. Getting the orange turd out and a Democrat in might help balance power. But people have to VOTE Blue.
