  1. Every time I see one of those ( it's a Kia Soul, I believe)it makes me smile. Just looks like a lot of fun. Maybe they will become more popular as gas prices sky rocket out of control.

The 2nd one, from the grille ornament, I think is a Nissan. Never seen one in the U.S. but I wish we would. Looks hot.

Love the auto posts, Ricko! (almost as much as the lovely studs I drool over here!)

  2. That second pic...the car has just been rolled off the production line here in Britain. Its been made more masculine to appeal to men drivers as its mainly women over here who drive it; the makers replaced the 'flower' ornament on the hood as men thought it was too girly.
Must admit it does look a lot tougher than the last model; satisfying hard curves in a compact shape.

  3. We saw a nice car on the road last Sat. When we go home I looked it up. It's the Toyota Solara, very nice. I love Toyota, we both have the RAV4. Not real sporty but the hubby says the next car will be a Jaguar. I would rather have the Lexus SUV.

  4. Mike, better have hubby check with Consumers Report re: reliability/customer satisfaction/frequency of repair on the Jag.
RAV4 is a great car. Check out the Nissan Rogue for a tidy and macho little SUV. Lexus SUV is superb.

Kirk, thanks for the info. Do you know what name they've given that second one? Then I can read up on it on line. Thanks.

  5. Everyone - Wow, I didn't think this post would makes such a splash. I like the Kia Soul, too, and the Rav4. In fact, we've reserved a Rav4 for our Florida trip.

  6. Are you going to Disney World or Key West? Those are the only two places in Florida, right?

  8. Rick - can you give me the link for this second vehicle? Can't find anything on Google.

Karl - any clue what it is named?

Sorry to be a pest. This is just twangin' my automotive buds.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. Mike - We're staying five nights a few miles north of South Beach (South Beach was too expensive) and one night in Key West. I had to laugh about what you said!

Nick - You realize those are two different cars?

Howard - Sorry, the pic is all I have about the second car. And you're never a pest!

  10. howard.
dont quote me but i think its a sleeker version of the iconic vw beetle. motor giant vw has axed the feminine image designed for women back in 1999 and got rid of the flower holder on the dashboard. the trademark round headlights of the 1938 original design remain but now boast led technology. it was unveiled in shanghai, china on monday.

  11. I hope your trip is lots of fun. I cant't wait to hear about Key West. The husband wants to go there sooo bad. I want to go to Vancouver, again.

  12. Karl - That's not a VW!

    Mike - Thanks.

  13. Karl - You get "A" for effort, but, as Rick has said, it's not a Vee-Dub. We have the New Beetle here in America, and it has that rep of being a "chick" car - too cutesy for men to ever be seen driving one. The new remodel is supposed to cure that, starting with removal of the bud vase on the instrument panel. Thanks for trying old chap!
