That should have been the final war, but do we learn from history? Sadly, no. Korea...Viet Nam...Afghanistan...Iran...and that's just the wars in which America has been involved. Countless others around the globe. Effective form of population control?

In Memoriam of the thousands of brave men who came from many allied countries in the rescue of Europe, many of whom have lost their lives in doing so.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, nowadays it seems that History lessons in school and college do not stress enough the importance and the scale of their engagement to put down the actual ennemies of freedom.
And again History is doomed to repeat itself.
But these soldiers' sacrifice was not in vain. They offered us 70 years of peace. A truce Europe had not known for a very, very long time.
Let's hope it will endure.
