If the Gospel or even the Bible were put in courts as proofs, they would be rejected as they are second or even third hand stories written by evangelists that never witnessed Jesus in his life time. For the Bible, those prophets were very low educated people, shepherds with no knowledge of science etc.. After all if this «God» could be so intelligent, loving etc.. Why is he permitting all evil and world calamities to go on and not giving us real peace and love? Religion(s) is a man made scam to profit from the others for the agenda of those who are preaching those false messages.
I believe Dr. Ehrman (the second meme, above) is mistaken. There are several references to Jesus in contemporary writings in the 1st century AD. Paul the Apostle mentions him in letters (50-60 AD), Flavius Josephus, a Jewish historian, mentions him twice (93-94 AD), the first four Gospels of the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) were written in the last first century AD, and the letters of Clement of Rome (late first century). Doesn't mean I agree with any of the mythology that came after, but it seems he *was* mentioned in the first century AD,
Historical facts do not lie.....
