ReplyDeleteRoute of TEAL airlines of New Zealand, a luxury service they provided from 1951-1961 with Short Solent flying boats.
The route ran from Auckland NZ to Tahiti with stopovers at Fiji, the Cook Islands and Samoa, gourmet meals were served in flight and luaus at each island.

DeleteEventually the service ended due to increasing costs of maintaining the aging fleet of Short Solent flying boats. TEAL /Tasman Empire Airways LTD eventually became Air New Zealand in 1965.
