2025.1003.0002...
Per Google: The current US national debt is approximately $37.5 trillion as of late September 2025.
The fallacy of Lucy's theory is that the rich must SPEND their riches to keep money in circulation, rather than "invest it". At the top, "investment" makes them more money rather than circulating freely in the economy (which is us). It might take a while for that money spent on new cars and jets to get to the employees of the related companies, but that it will eventually get there. Which is another version of "trickle down".
Of course, all of that could be short-circuited by the Rich donating directly to non-profits who seek to address homelessness, low education levels, drug abuse issues, and unemployability concerns. THAT might be the best way to "cut taxes" on them? The PROBLEM with a lot of non-profits is that MUCH of their accumulations tend to fund high salaries for those who solicit donations to them! Finding the ones with lower percentages of salary consumption is KEY.
The way Americans are so anti tax hard believers is like a family parents who are loading their credit card to the top and over while having poor income even if both parents are working. Paying the debt with other credit cars again and again. Also never cut the expenses for useless and non essential items. It's so easy to understand that I cannot figure how you Americans don't see it. YES, here in Canada we pay a lot of taxes but we have some returns with many social benefits for ALL Canadians.
What to be expected from the party of “fiscal responsibility”, the same one that gave us the Panic and Long Depression of 1873, the Great Depression of 1929 and numerous recessions. The Repubs are the last ones you want regulating and running the national economy, as they de-regulate and ruin the national economy with their voodoo-nomics and economic policies of failure. They have always been fiscally reckless, a recklessness fed by sheer greed and hunger for corrosive power. Rex in DC
