Indoor plumbing was still in its infancy… You can’t ascribe to today’s styles, styles of over 100 years ago, when families were smaller in size and had less clothes so less closets, and yes, outhouses in the backyard were still common…

It's always interesting to me that the builders from this era seemed to skimp on the number of bathrooms.
