I love International Style!
I LOVE the look of that house! A "squared-off" Art Deco style to me. Clean, modern, and timeless.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rick!
I also like the lines of the 1960s modern design.
ReplyDeleteThis house is from 1938. It's on that time when in 1930's Germany the Bauhaus was the new modern style by which all of our modern art and architecture was brought.
DeleteGropius living in USA after the Nazi came to power did bring his style in USA.

JiEL - Thanks for the links.
DeleteVery nice. I could live there --- put in an indoor pool!
ReplyDeleteThe Rauh House, built in 1938, was one of the first International Style modernist homes in the
ReplyDeleteCincinnati area.

JiEL - Thanks again.
DeleteTel Aviv has its White City area with buildings in the International style.
ReplyDeleteGerman Jewish architects had to flee Nazi Germany and many settled in Tel Aviv designing many of the city’s buildings. The International can be severe in style, much better is the Art Deco Streamline modern style of architecture which allowed for more decorous forms. -Rj
