IF the concept of better capitalism included a national law that "profit sharing" with employees HAD to be a part of the deal, I suspect that wages and profits would significantly increase. It's worked before and it can work again. Everybody smiles! The management-disliked labor unions exist for a reason! Just that corporate owners do not like to admit that fact. Easier to staunchly resist than fix the issues that cause strikes, to management.
And it will only get worse as Russel Vought, the architect of Project 2025, has been confirmed as White House budget director. Vought believes in the conspiracy of a deep state, when in fact he and others of his ilk are creating the deep state that they supposedly detest. Vought believes in privatizing Social Security and getting rid of the minimum wage as you will have to trust Wall Street with your retirement and negotiate with your employer on wages. The jackals of Wall Street will feather their nests with your money and employers will pay you little, if at all. Of course people like Vought have never gone hungry or have been in financial straights beyond their control. Vought also believes the 2020 election was rigged, no doubt to gain favor with Trump. Wait until he decides to cut supports and subsidies for businesses and farmers, shit will hit the fan. Then again he is a man of no principles and will find an excuse to keep freebies flowing to red states and Republicans voters. -Rj
In Canada the RIGHT to unionise is in our Constitution and that is why many American businesses coming here are facing some issues when their workers are getting together to have an union to make their lives better. The latest is Amazon closing 7 warehouses here in Montreal as in negociation time their worker were seeking to be unionised. (Amazon worker «22$/h» wanted to be paid like the Walmart workers «31$/h) 7000 workers lost their jobs after the closing of those warehouses and delivery workers. Their respond was that this closing would be just for a restructuration and will operate from Onatrio warehouses and rely on private delivery companies. It was also hard in the past for Walmart, McDonald, Costco etc but those companies adapted to our way of doing business by listening to their workers as without them they couldn't fonction as Target failed to do in the past. Also, Walmart and Costco are also putting many products made in Canada on their shelves too. We are a capitalist country but we are also respecting our workers.
When American companies try to export their way of badly managing their workers here they hit a wall and show that they didn't study our ways of doing it.
When the orange felon said that USA's banks have no access to Canada he blinded the fact that those banks saw that our banking system has some «rules» to make sure that a bank provide good services and is secure for their clients. It's not free for all up here.
Love the last one. Often there are many ready to resist, if even just one shows the way.
ReplyDeleteFuck Trump.
