Ginger Rogers, 1930s

  1. Thank you, Rick. for making my morning mocha latte even more delicious with a glamour shot of Ginger Rogers, gowned by Bernard Newman from the movie "Roberta." Costumes for the movie cost the studio $250,000,00($5.7 million today). That's enough silver lame to cover a parking lot. Did you know later in her career she lived at her 4Rs property and then Medford in your state of Oregon. What a woman!

  2. Ginger Rogers was very keen to play Elizabeth I of England opposite Katherine Hepburn in "Mary of Scotland". Even under an assumed name, The Studio would not accept it. Sadly Ginger was strictly "song and dance" and not box office in more serious roles.
